Updated Internship

Texas CEO Magazine is on the hunt for two interns that would be interested in a summer internship; approx. 20hrs a week up through August.

The interns would help implement a social networking strategy for Texas CEO magazine as well as two books (Professional Destiny by former Enfatico head Valerie Hausladen and a Gluten-free cookbook coming out in the fall by Karen Morgan).

In addition, the interns would gain knowledge of brand building through both traditional and social networking tactics as well as real-life median relationn strategies.

For the most part it would be an unpaid internship.

Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Internship

Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, New Media

The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce has several unpaid internships in its Communications Department. Interns research and update publications and the Chamber Web site; fact check for articles and reports; enter data; write articles and news releases; call on media; prepare reports and other materials for the Communications Council and Board of Directors; and, among other tasks, assist in preparation for news conferences and communications events.

Students need excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. HTML, Adobe Photoshop or Quark are a plus. Good writing and oral skills are essential.

Dates for fall internships are August 15 to December 15; spring, from January 15 to May 15; summer, from May 15 to August 15. Interns work 15 to 20 hours a week.

Lonehollow co-ed Adventure Camp

Lonehollow, a co-ed adventure camp in the Texas Hill Country, is seeking a full-time intern for the next 12 months with the potential for full-time.

Successful candidate needs to be someone who can work in the business office during the year leading camper and counselor recruiting efforts; communicating with student, staff, and parent audiences; presenting to potential new clients; helping develop summer curriculum; and assisting with all other business office functions, including budgeting, correspondence, creating marketing materials, etc.

The selected candidate needs to be very organized, motivated, and well-spoken.

The position is paid and includes housing.

During the summer months, the candidate will continue to work at camp directly with kids as well as part of the office administrative staff so someone who has a love for the outdoors and children is also a must.

Texas Governer's Commision for Women

This is a SPRING internship, so if you are in need, now is the time. 

Lesley Guthrie, Executive Director for the Texas Governor's Commission for Women looking for someone who can help coordinate commission meetings and events, create  PowerPoint presentations, respond to constituent casework, and write articles for a commission newsletter.
