     PRSSA National Awards & Scholarships

Each year PRSSA and its sponsors give away nearly $20,000 to winners in national scholarship and awards competitions:
  • National Gold Key Award - The National Gold Key Award is the highest honor given to members who demonstrate academic excellence in public relations and leadership qualities in PRSSA.
  • The Betsy Plank/PRSSA Scholarship - The scholarship recognizes academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, practical experience and commitment to public relations. The 2009 Betsy Plank PRSSA Scholarship Program.pdf
  • PRSA Codispoti Technology Section Grant - This grant, sponsored by PRSA's Technology Section, is open to all PRSSA members with an interest in high-tech PR.
  • National President's Citation - The President's Citation was created to celebrate and honor outstanding members of PRSSA.
  • Bateman Case Study Competition - The annual competition gives students an opportunity to exercise the analytical skills and mature judgement required for public relations problem solving.
  • Professor Sidney Gross Memorial Award - This award is presented to the PRSSA student who demonstrates superior understanding of ethical principles in public relations.
  • Multicultural Affairs Scholarship - This scholarship program was established in 1989 by PRSA's Multicultural Affairs Committee, to assist and recognize young men and women for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations.   • Gary Yoshimura PR Scholarship - This scholarship has been developed in memory of Gary Yoshimura who was a dedicated leader in public relations. Gary Yoshimura was a consummate professional. His focus on his work, his fierce determination to do his best regardless of the situation or obstacles in his path, and his team spirit will live on in this scholarship.   • Stephen D. Pisinski Memorial Scholarship- The Stephen D. Pisinski Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  The scholarship was developed by Allison & Partners in memory of Steve Pisinski, APR, Fellow PRSA and founder of The Montgomery Group.  Each fall, a $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a qualified public relations student chosen by the Selection Committee.           PRSA Austin Scholarships

  • PRSSA National Conference Scholarship- PRSA Austin is offering a scholarship that pays the registration fees for one person from Texas State University-San Marcos for the PRSSA Nationals in San Diego. 2009 National Conference Scholarships and Grants

  • PRSA Travel and Tourism Section Grant- We invite PRSSA students to submit an application for The PRSA Travel and Tourism Section Grant for PRSSA Conference registration. This grant is open to PRSSA members who demonstrate an interest in travel and tourism/hospitality public relations. There is no limit to the number of applications a Chapter may submit; however, no more than 1 grant per school will be awarded. The winners' Conference registration fee for the PRSSA 2009 National Conference in San Diego will be paid by the PRSA Travel and Tourism Section. The Section will invite grant winners to attend the Travel and Tourism Section Seminar to meet and mingle with members of the Section and other public relations professionals.   • PRSA Health Academy Grant Application- We invite PRSSA students to submit an application for the PRSA Health Academy Grant for PRSSA Conference registration. This grant, which will pay the registration fees for two students to attend the PRSSA 2009 National Conference in San Diego, is open to PRSSA members who demonstrate an interest in health care public relations. The grantees will also be invited to attend the Health Academy session at the PRSA International Conference, allowing them to meet and mingle with Section members and other public relations professionals. Two grants will be awarded. There is no limit to the number of applications a PRSSA Chapter may submit; however, no more than one grant per school will be awarded.
